One of my favorite holiday sights is Anne Arundel Medical Center's annual Lights on the Bay display at Sandy Point State Park. And it's open for 2012 right now. The extravaganza features two miles and over 70 displays of lights. There are two new themes this year: Toy Land and Winter Penguins. Favorites from years past including the Naval Academy's midshipmen and historic Annapolis are once again making an appearance.
Each night, children can particpate in a scavenger hunt challenging them to find items within the displays, and enter drawings to win prizes. If you purchase special 3-D glasses at the door, secret images will appear within the displays.
Santa will make an appearance on Thanksgiving Day, and then every weekend through Christmas Eve.
Sandy Point State Park is located off Route 50 at exit 32 on the Annapolis side of the Bay Bridge. The show is open to the public each night from 5pm - 10pm and admission is $14 per car. Proceeds will go towards AAMC.
